Yesterday.....

was Christmas Day. The morning started off great. Wendy came in our room for the first time since she has been in her big girl bed. I was half awake at this point...she climbed up in bed with us and said "My fan is making weird noises". Humm, I said maybe it was Santa making his final stop. She laid there all snuggled up and then just couldn't contain herself any longer at all! She was full of GIGGLES! "Can we go see if Santa has came????", she said. Well little did she know that Santa hadn't placed the larger gifts out at that time. So, Dad said just a minute and I will go and see if the Old Elf has came. During this time he quietly took the larger items and placed them in front of the tree. Once he had done this he came in and said it was all clear that Santa had came and gone. Wendy jumped up and ran into the living room and just stared in awe.

I got up and told her to run and tell Holly that Santa Claus had been here. This was now right at 7:45 am. Holly really doesn't appreciate getting up this early, but made an effort to look jolly. ha.

Mean time we got coffee ready and Wendy opened up her stocking gifts while waiting for Holly to come in. Once Holly came in we started getting ready for the tree.
From that point on I started feeling a little upset in the tummy. It started lower GI and then next came the upper GI, and then the two together!! Gee whiz!!!!! I was like this from 8:30 to 6:30 pm. Mike finally found a Pharmacy that was open, good ole' Walgreen's. We'll have to remember them for the next holiday season.... I hope not!!
Our first Christmas here in our new house and this is how I got to spend it! I really don't remember what I got at all.
This morning I woke up and am feeling better, but oh so sore from all of the lower and upper GI stuff! I'm hoping that things get better today. So far so good.

I think Holly took photos of the tree and gifts; so I will post those as soon as I get a chance.

Here's hoping that everyone had a better day than I did. ha

Our First Panhandle Snow!!

I looked out on Tuesday morning December 9th and saw wet streets. It was still dark out so I assumed it had rained during the night due to the fact that we had dark clouds rolling in the evening before. Little did I know that it was snow!! Once I passed the kitchen windows I caught a glimpse of it falling and shouted out ("It IS SNOWING"!). Mike jumped out of bed and came running and Wendy had to get up off the couch to see what I was talking about. This is something we have looked forward to since we have been contemplating moving out here. It ended up snowing all day long. It was gorgeous to watch the fresh flakes fall. On the window you could actually see the shapes of the flakes even as tiny as they were. It was like looking under a microscope.

Wendy enjoyed every minute of it even at school. While Wendy was at school they had a fire drill and had to leave coats and all behind and stand out in the snow!! It must have not been a planned drill due to the fact that the children were without jackets. She said she almost turned into a Popsicle; this made me laugh. Once we got home from school she ran out and made a snow angel and I tried to help make her a snow man, but the snow was really dry and wouldn't stick together to form a ball. It is much prettier snow here than in Ft.Worth/Dallas. It is more pure in color, due to less pollution.

That night Wendy and I made cookies for her Ballet Class and had a wonderful time doing so.

Sorry these are late being posted, but better late than never. ha

Sweet Moments....

One of my precious friends and China Sisters, Sherry, suggested that we take the evening off from a stressful week and just lay back and watch Wendy smile and giggle.
Well, we decided to finish up the tree and lay around in our living room (aka: Nostalgia Room since this is where we have many of our favorite antique's).
I captured some special moments of Mike and Wendy reading a new Ted and Fred book, their favorite. Then things got goofy.... in came our Chihuahua Luther and we got some fun shots of him with me and Wendy as well. He thinks he is human and very special. Our other fuzzy family members stayed at the kitchen door watching him get away with murder. ha

Thank you Sherry for suggesting this.... It took our minds off of the week.

Tagged....

This is actually a fun tag. This is the fist time for me to be tagged. My friend Kristy (at Franceska's Journey) got this tag and said for anyone who wanted to do this was tagged. ha

What you do is go to the 4th folder in your pictures and chose the 4th photo out of that file and post it. Funny my 4th folder is of our Gotcha Videos. SO, here it is....

I have been playing with our photo pass pictures from Disney World. Here is one and I'll add a few more. So, if you see one pop up in between visits you will know what was going on.

You will have to copy and paste in the bar above to see them. Just figured that out...

Something to be Happy About.... Our 4th Gotcha Anniversary

Wendy with her 3 SWI mates. Wendy, Katey, Abagail, and Jade along with the mommies.
Katey and Wendy shared the same Nanny together.

First Night with us... "Harmonious Time Frame"

Very Inquisitive Look.

First Evening With Wendy.

Happy Gotcha Day our sweet little Wendy! I just can't believe it has been 4 years since we received Miss Wendy Monet Chunchu.

I am so happy that she has grown and thrived so well with us. We could tell on Day One that she was a really bight little thing. I would have never thought we would have our Wendy at one time. I use to keep saying to myself that our two older bio daughters were all we would have, but our daughter Holly kept on and kept on begging us to let her have a little sister. Finally we were getting to empty nest stage when Holly was 17 and Lacy was 19 when we all set out on our journey to Wendy. It was one of the best decisions we have ever made.

For all of our travel mates " A Very Happy Gotcha Day" Sure wish we could see all of you once more. Luckily we keep up with a few of you.

We couldn't love you more, Wendy.

Bittersweet Anniversary # 29

Today we are on our 29th LID Anniversary! Why is it Bittersweet this time in general? Well several of my travel buddies have gotten their referrals through the SN list and will soon be traveling to see their sweet babies faces. One of our sisters travels today on our LID Anniversary, and I'm truly happy for her. I know many would think I'm just Bitter in general, but I'm truly not. I am and will always be happy for my June 06' Sisters. I know by looking at their daughters faces that they truly belong to one another.
You see I have often felt just plain guilty for having my Wendy while others have never been a Mother at all. For that matter guilty for having two bio daughters on top of that.
My problem is that I am in this long wait, and that it isn't any easier since my youngest daughter Wendy continually asks me when we will be getting her baby sister. It doesn't ease when Wendy tells me all the things that she wants to play with her and that she wants to help feed and change her, and ease her fears and pain as I did hers. She truly thinks about these things... she is a BRIGHT child!!
We just keep our dreams in place and hope that very soon things will turn around and speed up. I pray that we won't be waiting on into 2010 or 2011, but be able to have our sweet and precious child by fall of 09'. It will happen and we will all be happy once it does...no, I will be OVERJOYED! Mike and I will be much older than we planned, but certainly all the more wiser.
Hey, all of those clothes may come back into style by then. The clothes we bought and received for Mylie. ha

Happy 29th to all of my remaining waiting sisters.... And to all that are waiting for their PA's I pray they speed up for you so those darlings aren't waiting too long for their mommies and daddies to come.

Our Pilgrimage to Disney World....

This is the first of many posts of our Disney World Trip we took over the Halloween week/end. This is one reason I was out of pocket for a while. I actually thought I would be able to post while we were there, but the internet connection was not cooperating not to mention the Disney Magic of $10.00 dollars a day to connect to the internet!! So, we decided that we would just play with it once we got home. This is our day with our travel buddies from Wendy's adoption trip. Wendy and Katey shared the same Nanny and played together the first year of their little lives. We will always remain in contact with them!!
As a matter of fact, as we predicted, Wendy cried when we had to leave them. It was very touching....she really loves Miss Katey!!
We had one of the best days EVER!! The crowds were very low and we didn't wait in long lines at all. Not to mention the weather was superb!!!

Love and Miss you three!!
