First of all we want to wish our Mothers a Very Happy Mother's Day! I wish I could be able to see my mom and I know Mike would have loved to have see his. Even though we are so far away we love you both and hope you had a wonderful day.
Mom, so good to talk to you today. I'm grateful to my brothers for visiting you today. It is hard being the only daughter and being so far away. I love you very much!
I had such a wonderful week/weekend. Lacy came up from Dallas to be with us for her birthday/mothers day visit. Lacy's birthday was on the 4th, and of course Mother's Day being today. I was allowed to sleep in, and believe me I never do. I often wish I could, but today I did. Boy do I feel good today.
I was greeted by all three of my daughters this morning along with my husband with homemade French Toast sprinkled with powdered sugar and topped with big beautiful strawberries. YUM! This was a treat that Wendy came up with. Mike and she read the Bernstein Bears Mother's Day, and they have the recipe in it for French Toast. Wendy has wanted to do this for the past two years, but this year she got her way and helped prepare it with Daddy's help. Gotta love that kid! I asked if they used egg beaters and the reply was no, because you know Wendy loves to crack the eggs. ha
I love all of my cards from my family. That made my day!
Finally, Happy Mother's Day to all of my Friends who have just become new mommies! Sherry, just got her baby,Cassie, on the 3rd and is spending her first Mother's Day in China, Guangzhou. Susan is spending her fist Mother's Day with Maiya along with celebrating her and Maiya's birthdays today as well. What a treat to celebrate their birthdays together and that they land the day after Mother's Day. Lynn, is also spending Mother's Day with her newest addition T. Michele, just got her son Ryan and is spending her very first Mother's Day with him as well.
To all of my other China Sisters who have children and are waiting still waiting, or who have their children and are settling in. Not to mention all of my China Sisters who are still waiting and this is their first child....) Happy Mother's Day to each and everyone of you! May all of us who are still waiting be celebrating next Mother's Day with our new little ones.
Love you all!!

My Baby is 25 today!!
My Sweet Lacy!!!!!!!!!!!! You were my first baby, and I was so excited to become a mommy. I had waited for you for a long time. Even though you weighed 8 lbs. 8 ozs. you were so tiny and fragile to me. So unlike having a baby doll.ha Well, that evening Daddy and I had a very special meal; since the hospital was brand new they were serving lobster! Dad and I even watched "Fiddler on the Roof" that evening and when he had to leave I continued watching it. For some reason I couldn't sleep. I guess I was so excited to have you. While the movie was playing they brought you in for your feeding. You know I wonder if that is why you were so in love with Musicals. hum...
I'm so excited that your birthday present is going to be going and seeing the "Fiddler on the Roof" with Topal. It couldn't have landed any more perfect.
Wish we were with you on your birthday. We will see you very soon, and we will all have a wonderful evening believe me!
We all love you!
Mom, Dad, Holly, and Wendy
not to mention all of our little animals.

Mike's Hard Work Pays Off
Mike started planning this garden last summer. We took down the peach tree that had been here since the dogs were eating the moldy peaches off the ground. Ethel got Aphlotoxin(sp) from eating the moldy peaches and pits. We could have lost her, but thank goodness we caught what she was doing in time.... that was last summer.
Mike dug up the grass and the stump of the tree and got a wrought iron fence and painted it white. He knows how much I have always wanted a white picket fence.
Check out his results.....

Hoppy Easter!!
Our celebration began on Saturday evening when we colored eggs. We had eggs that came from Mamaw and Papaws chickens, and then some we had. There were so many eggs to color, and lots of cups with colors to clean up.

The next morning Wendy woke up and came told me that the bunny didn't leave anything in her room at the foot of her bed. I told her that he must have left it in Holly's room this year since that is where she slept. Sure enough there at the foot of Holly's bed was Wendy's basket filled to the top with all kinds of goodies. Then on the other side of the bed was Holly's basket filled to the top as well. From the entry hall to the bedroom there was a trail of eggs. The Easter Bunny must have dropped them along the way to the baskets.
After we went through the basket we got dressed for Easter Services. Once back home we shared lunch across the street with our dear friends and their family. After a wonderful lunch with good company we hid eggs for Wendy and a couple of others that were there. Wendy was the only little kid, but she didn't care. The older kids actually shared their loot with her afterward. ha
I'm still trying to get photos from Mike's camera; so when I do I will add to either this post or a separate one which ever is easier.

Let It Snow!!!
Well, Friday the forecast finally came true! When they said "Blizzard" they meant it by golly.
Friday we woke up and there was snow on the ground, and much more than we have had here all winter. It continued all day. The first video I took it was just getting started. Then Mike got home and we went out and had a snow ball fight; plus walked around in it to see just how deep it got.
My parents took us on vacation to New Mexico when I was Wendy's age and the snow was pretty deep. It went up to my waist and here it went to Wendy's bottom in some of the drifts, and up to her knee in the lower areas.
We think it was an average of 18" here.
Holly, Wendy and I had an adventure yesterday. The girls wanted to see the new animated Disney movie, and when we got to the theater the snow was up pretty high in the parking lot. Not to mention white outs I encountered while driving. Next time there will be NO getting out no matter what the kids want!!!! After all of that the theater manager decided to not open for the day. All of his employees were there, but they kept the doors closed until he made a final decision. So, we headed home stopped by Hastings for a few rentals to satisfy Holly and Wendy and then to the grocery store next door to get some soup fixings.
I was so glad to get back home.
It has about melted off now. Funny how quick that happened.
Enjoy the photos.

One down, how many more to go???
Make your own Glitter Graphics
I'm so far behind this month. This is unlike me. I have been thinking of our day, but not going so crazy this month.
We were on Spring Break on our actual LID Anniversary. We actually celebrated at Sandia Peak in New Mexico on the 19th. It was fun riding the Tram up to see some remaining snow at the top. Did I say Snow? It was more like Ice and Slush, but still white and pretty though.
After coming back down we ate at a Mexican Restaurant they had at the bottom. Good food!
We were actually having fun and not allowing ourselves to be gloomy about not having our Mylie yet.
