Evan's first time to stay somewhere without us.

The kids were invited to a Rockstar Birthday Party over the weekend. We had fun dressing them up. They won't probably ever wear this again, but it was really cute for what they were attending.
Evan did wonderful! It was the first time I was able to leave him at a Party or really anywhere on his own with out one of us adults. Wendy was with him and that helped. Baby steps....
Next fall he will start Preschool and have to go to class on his own. I am also having him go to dance one day a week and he will be going by himself for this as well. Ms. Bluejeans and I think he is about ready. He is being weaned this summer some with dance class. I take one class with him and he is finally doing some of the stuff by himself. Then he goes on Friday and I am not there, but Holly is helping with that class. Again Baby steps. He is really doing well since we have had him 9 months this coming Sunday.

Such a big boy in such a short time. I don't think I'll ever be able to leave my girls -- but like yoiu said -- baby steps -- plus I have a few years before they will be doing that anyways.

Sherry, he really has come a long way. I will say that if he doesn't get use to being in in class by himself soon he will have an awful start to Kindergarten. ha

What cute rock stars you have! And you must be so proud of Evan, coming so far in such a short time. You're right...you have to start the separation process now or it will be all that much harder later, and little kiddos can really blossom when they have time on their own away from Mom and Dad. So glad to hear you have him in dance. I think that's great for boys!

Thanks Pam, good to see you post.
After the party we noticed his speech and sentences all of a sudden are better!!! I think it could be peer pressure! He whines when he talks and all of his words roll into one long one! Getting better just this week; can't wait to see how Preschool helps.

You're doing great, just you and your shadow. Know it is hard, but he's doing great and will be great in Preschool. These little separations (slow and steady) are teaching him "mama always comes back!"

That is so great that he did so well! I am already dreading the first time we leave E. alone, he's still not even fully happy about being left with D. so I'm thinking it will likely be a while.

Hope you all are doing well!! We are in HI, waiting to hear about our home/lease application, found a second car (the military only ships one), things are coming together which is great as the boys are climbing the best western walls ;o)

Sending hugs,
M
