Check out this new sand we got. It is by Crayola, and I bought Wendy 4 different colors yesterday. They had Green, Blue, Purple, and Pink. Wendy had so much fun mixing them.

Is it Summer YET??

Wendy is so ready for summer, but hey we can't complain the weather isn't all that bad here. We get the morning coolness, the afternoon heat, and then the evening coolness again.

We did manage to get Wendy's play equipment up and her little pool, that I got last August on clearance for $4.50, filled. She has initiated both already. Today is going to be cool though...fun for the swing set, but not the pool. Hey the sun is just now peeping out.

Wendy also is ready to start Gymnastics! She gets to go to her first class next Thursday so I'll post photos of her in her new suit soon. Ballet starts up in July. I still need to get her involved in Swimming lessons.

Here are a few photos to get the summer feel going.

Oh, we had to cut a small tree down so that we could put the play equipment where we wanted it. SO, if you are wondering what the dark spot in the grass is... Mike put dirt/manure on top of the spot.

Best Dentist Vist Ever!!

Wendy had the best dentist experience ever today! Last week we went to the Pediadontist and we found out that she needed two crowns and one regular filling. Before our move she had some trouble with her left lower molar. It looked like she had chomped down on something and broke off a piece of it. It didn't bother her; so we waited until we got here to do anything about it.

One afternoon she was eating a chip and complained about her right lower molar next to the last tooth. I took a look and picked the chip out and along came a piece of her tooth! YIKES!! It was time to get something done and quick. We took Mike to lunch before Holly left for her Peru trip and we found our new dentist office sitting on the corner. Wow! Their office is wonderful. They were getting ready for a Princess Tea Party that afternoon so we ate lunch and of course came back for the Tea. It was a wonderful way of meeting the two dentist that we were to see. Funny we were scheduled to see Dr. Moore and got to meet him, but we were lucky to meet Dr. Tinkler as well and a good thing too. You see when we went in for her first check up she met Dr. Moore again and he wanted it taken care of soon; so our appointment for today was scheduled and we ended up seeing Dr. Tinkler.

All of their staff is just wonderful!!! They made it fun for Wendy and she never got anxious about the visit at all.

They have the TV up on the ceiling and she got to watch Enchanted while she was having her tooth fixed.

Next time we go will be June 13th and she seems okay with it so far. I had no problems with her at all....well accept for the little bit of the numb feeling. Great Prizes too!!! Wendy got a stuffed elephant, and boy is he cute. She named him Elmer.

A HAPPY 23 ANNIVERSARY a day late!

Well we might as well be happy huh? It is getting closer now. The way I look at it now the worse case scenario would be around February 09' for Referrals, but my intuition is still pining out DECEMBER. If it is February it will be a 32 month wait for our group. If it is December it will be a 30 month wait and only 7 more months to wait. Hey that isn't bad since look how long we have hung in there!

Oh here is a funny....) I just said "Happy Anniversary" to Mike and his reply.... "OH GOD"... I quickly said it is our 23 month anniversary for Mylie.... He then replied "Don't ever do that to me again!" I just had to crack up!!

Anyway... HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to all of my June 19ther's who are still hanging in there with me.

We loved it so much that Mike and Wendy took me back to the Canyon for Mother's Day.
Holly had to go back to Lubbock to leave there for Peru today; so she didn't get to be here on Mother's Day.
As I had said in the Take One post I usually see some really neat things on my Mother's Day trips....well I got to see a Texas Horned Toad and I haven't seen one of these since I was a child. Too many pesticides to kill out the Red Ants killed out the Horned Toads since the Red Ant is their food source. I was so excited to see them thriving here. Remember it is against the law to pick one up and take it home. They are making a come back but were near extinction not long ago.

Happy Belated Mother's Day to all of my friends and family.

Lacy comes here today for a weeks visit!! I'm so excited to see her. How is that for a Mother's Day present??

Palo Duro Canyon Adventure "Take One"

We had one of the best days ever with traveling about 30 miles away from home. How cool to have something this spectacular so close to home!! We loved it so much that Mike and Wendy are taking me back for Mothers Day tomorrow. It seems every Mothers Day and every Birthday we end up doing something nature wise. I love it. One year we went to California and saw the Sea Lions with their babies. I thought that was so special...so much I haven't forgotten it. That was when the older girls were very young.

I want to share some of our experience with everyone. Oh, you must have a walking stick to do half of what we did. Believe me when I say I am super sore, but we are going again and hopefully it will work out the pain. We had the best time on our first adventure to the Canyon. We took three hiking trails. The first we took around a ridge and found many neat things... Then it was off to climb up to a Cave Entrance. It was SPECTACULAR!! Lastly we went on a easy trail and saw a bunny, and some Turkey tracks among some of the prettiest Green Lizards!
After all our hard hiking we ended the adventure with an Ice Cream Cone!!

This wasn't the last trip.... We went on Mother's Day as well, and I will post photos of that adventure in another post.

I can't believe that Wendy and I were able to climb one of the inclines to see a cave!! Very steep, but we were troopers.

Mike's new Toy....

All of Mike's wonderful Colleagues at his past position put in and gave us a gift card so we could get something for both of us from all of them as a going away gift. We have had that card for over 5 weeks now trying really hard to decide what we could get to A)remember them all by. B)that would be for both of us to enjoy together. We finally came up with it yesterday. Mike took Wendy on a trip to Home Depot and picked up this really nice grill. Well of course Mike is the master griller, but I sure do enjoy what he cooks; so I guess you can truly say it is a gift that both of us will totally enjoy for many years.
Mike was like a little boy with a new Toy. Oh, the steaks and squash were the first things to get grilled last night right after he brought it home. I can truly say that they were the best steaks I've tasted in many a year!! YUMMY!!
