New Years Eve 2008

It won't be long now until we ring the new year in and it will be January 1st, 2009. I do hope I don't write it wrong on the next check or letter I have to send out. Sometimes I start off just right and then revert back to the old year months later.

I want to wish all of my China Sisters, Close Family Friends and Family a Very Happy, Prosperous, and Healthy NEW YEAR!!

I hope and pray that this will be the year we celebrate receiving our daughter, and sister Mylie. It has been a long time coming and the anticipation is still just as strong as it was the day we sent of the paper work. I pray that China will see it in there hearts to speed things up since there are many children who need their loving mommies and daddy's to love and spoil them. Not to mention all of the mommies and daddy's who need their love in return. It is time for that speed up, but no one knows for sure whether there will be one soon or not.

To all of my sweet friends who will soon be traveling to meet their baby Daughters and Son; I pray that your TA's will soon come in and that you will be with them before too long.

To all of us that are still waiting I pray that our time will move swiftly and our patients will continue, because I know that the wait will be worth it in the end. I know first hand with having Wendy! I will say that the wait is still very, very hard just the same though. Wendy wants her baby sister so much.

Safe travels to all who will be out bringing the New Year in.

Love,
Lesa

Yesterday.....

was Christmas Day. The morning started off great. Wendy came in our room for the first time since she has been in her big girl bed. I was half awake at this point...she climbed up in bed with us and said "My fan is making weird noises". Humm, I said maybe it was Santa making his final stop. She laid there all snuggled up and then just couldn't contain herself any longer at all! She was full of GIGGLES! "Can we go see if Santa has came????", she said. Well little did she know that Santa hadn't placed the larger gifts out at that time. So, Dad said just a minute and I will go and see if the Old Elf has came. During this time he quietly took the larger items and placed them in front of the tree. Once he had done this he came in and said it was all clear that Santa had came and gone. Wendy jumped up and ran into the living room and just stared in awe.

I got up and told her to run and tell Holly that Santa Claus had been here. This was now right at 7:45 am. Holly really doesn't appreciate getting up this early, but made an effort to look jolly. ha.

Mean time we got coffee ready and Wendy opened up her stocking gifts while waiting for Holly to come in. Once Holly came in we started getting ready for the tree.
From that point on I started feeling a little upset in the tummy. It started lower GI and then next came the upper GI, and then the two together!! Gee whiz!!!!! I was like this from 8:30 to 6:30 pm. Mike finally found a Pharmacy that was open, good ole' Walgreen's. We'll have to remember them for the next holiday season.... I hope not!!
Our first Christmas here in our new house and this is how I got to spend it! I really don't remember what I got at all.
This morning I woke up and am feeling better, but oh so sore from all of the lower and upper GI stuff! I'm hoping that things get better today. So far so good.

I think Holly took photos of the tree and gifts; so I will post those as soon as I get a chance.

Here's hoping that everyone had a better day than I did. ha

Our First Panhandle Snow!!

I looked out on Tuesday morning December 9th and saw wet streets. It was still dark out so I assumed it had rained during the night due to the fact that we had dark clouds rolling in the evening before. Little did I know that it was snow!! Once I passed the kitchen windows I caught a glimpse of it falling and shouted out ("It IS SNOWING"!). Mike jumped out of bed and came running and Wendy had to get up off the couch to see what I was talking about. This is something we have looked forward to since we have been contemplating moving out here. It ended up snowing all day long. It was gorgeous to watch the fresh flakes fall. On the window you could actually see the shapes of the flakes even as tiny as they were. It was like looking under a microscope.

Wendy enjoyed every minute of it even at school. While Wendy was at school they had a fire drill and had to leave coats and all behind and stand out in the snow!! It must have not been a planned drill due to the fact that the children were without jackets. She said she almost turned into a Popsicle; this made me laugh. Once we got home from school she ran out and made a snow angel and I tried to help make her a snow man, but the snow was really dry and wouldn't stick together to form a ball. It is much prettier snow here than in Ft.Worth/Dallas. It is more pure in color, due to less pollution.

That night Wendy and I made cookies for her Ballet Class and had a wonderful time doing so.

Sorry these are late being posted, but better late than never. ha

Sweet Moments....

One of my precious friends and China Sisters, Sherry, suggested that we take the evening off from a stressful week and just lay back and watch Wendy smile and giggle.
Well, we decided to finish up the tree and lay around in our living room (aka: Nostalgia Room since this is where we have many of our favorite antique's).
I captured some special moments of Mike and Wendy reading a new Ted and Fred book, their favorite. Then things got goofy.... in came our Chihuahua Luther and we got some fun shots of him with me and Wendy as well. He thinks he is human and very special. Our other fuzzy family members stayed at the kitchen door watching him get away with murder. ha

Thank you Sherry for suggesting this.... It took our minds off of the week.

Tagged....

This is actually a fun tag. This is the fist time for me to be tagged. My friend Kristy (at Franceska's Journey) got this tag and said for anyone who wanted to do this was tagged. ha

What you do is go to the 4th folder in your pictures and chose the 4th photo out of that file and post it. Funny my 4th folder is of our Gotcha Videos. SO, here it is....

Something to be Happy About.... Our 4th Gotcha Anniversary

Wendy with her 3 SWI mates. Wendy, Katey, Abagail, and Jade along with the mommies.
Katey and Wendy shared the same Nanny together.

Group Photo in the White Swan "Red Couch Day"

First Night with us... "Harmonious Time Frame"

Very Inquisitive Look.

First Evening With Wendy.

Happy Gotcha Day our sweet little Wendy! I just can't believe it has been 4 years since we received Miss Wendy Monet Chunchu.

I am so happy that she has grown and thrived so well with us. We could tell on Day One that she was a really bight little thing. I would have never thought we would have our Wendy at one time. I use to keep saying to myself that our two older bio daughters were all we would have, but our daughter Holly kept on and kept on begging us to let her have a little sister. Finally we were getting to empty nest stage when Holly was 17 and Lacy was 19 when we all set out on our journey to Wendy. It was one of the best decisions we have ever made.

For all of our travel mates " A Very Happy Gotcha Day" Sure wish we could see all of you once more. Luckily we keep up with a few of you.

We couldn't love you more, Wendy.

Bittersweet Anniversary # 29

Today we are on our 29th LID Anniversary! Why is it Bittersweet this time in general? Well several of my travel buddies have gotten their referrals through the SN list and will soon be traveling to see their sweet babies faces. One of our sisters travels today on our LID Anniversary, and I'm truly happy for her. I know many would think I'm just Bitter in general, but I'm truly not. I am and will always be happy for my June 06' Sisters. I know by looking at their daughters faces that they truly belong to one another.
You see I have often felt just plain guilty for having my Wendy while others have never been a Mother at all. For that matter guilty for having two bio daughters on top of that.
My problem is that I am in this long wait, and that it isn't any easier since my youngest daughter Wendy continually asks me when we will be getting her baby sister. It doesn't ease when Wendy tells me all the things that she wants to play with her and that she wants to help feed and change her, and ease her fears and pain as I did hers. She truly thinks about these things... she is a BRIGHT child!!
We just keep our dreams in place and hope that very soon things will turn around and speed up. I pray that we won't be waiting on into 2010 or 2011, but be able to have our sweet and precious child by fall of 09'. It will happen and we will all be happy once it does...no, I will be OVERJOYED! Mike and I will be much older than we planned, but certainly all the more wiser.
Hey, all of those clothes may come back into style by then. The clothes we bought and received for Mylie. ha

Happy 29th to all of my remaining waiting sisters.... And to all that are waiting for their PA's I pray they speed up for you so those darlings aren't waiting too long for their mommies and daddies to come.

Our Pilgrimage to Disney World....

This is the first of many posts of our Disney World Trip we took over the Halloween week/end. This is one reason I was out of pocket for a while. I actually thought I would be able to post while we were there, but the internet connection was not cooperating not to mention the Disney Magic of $10.00 dollars a day to connect to the internet!! So, we decided that we would just play with it once we got home. This is our day with our travel buddies from Wendy's adoption trip. Wendy and Katey shared the same Nanny and played together the first year of their little lives. We will always remain in contact with them!!
As a matter of fact, as we predicted, Wendy cried when we had to leave them. It was very touching....she really loves Miss Katey!!
We had one of the best days EVER!! The crowds were very low and we didn't wait in long lines at all. Not to mention the weather was superb!!!

Love and Miss you three!!

One Whole Hand Now!!!!!!!!!!!

Today is Wendy's 5th Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!! As they say at Disney World "Wendy is one whole hand now instead of just 4 fingers like Mickey". I can't believe she is one year older!

I just had to post this since today is her big day, and also a record Voting Day as well! I hope Wendy gets a great present in our choice for President. (wink)

I made the cake for today and we will open gifts tonight.

Happy Birthday my baby!!

Wow, Two in One Day!! Ballet /Tap Parent Watch Day.

Wendy had Parent Watch Day today at her Ballet/Tap Class. She keeps telling me not to come because it might embarrass her. I told her to picture me in my underwear and she laughed real hard. She actually did really well and I videoed it so the grandparents and big sisters could watch her.
They are already ordering Recital Costumes.... I'll keep it a secret for now, but I can tell you it pertains to a couple of things on these clips.

I hope you enjoy them.....

Also, there was the cutest little boy that wanted to dance with the girls and Ms. Lugene offered for him to join in. His name was Ryder and he almost stole the show.
I know one thing Ms. Lugene really enjoys these kids and has always asked others if they would like to participate with the girls.

Sorry, I got carried away. LOL.... The more I watched these the prouder I got. I noticed she really is following the teacher and there are only about 3 that are. I'm just a Proud Momma!!!

Corn Maze Field Trip

We had a contest where the moms and teachers all had to shuck corn. I had won, but had misunderstood that the shucks had to be completely off the end.....oh well.
Guess who out of the little kids won?

That's right..... WENDY!!! They had to shuck 2 ears to our 3 ears of corn and she had been watching my method of doing it. You see you have to hold the ones that you aren't doing in between your legs while shucking the first one. Wendy not only did 2 she did 3 and momma routing all the way for her! She did all three to everyone else's two.... how I know this? Count the ones on the ground in front of her. She won a Ring Pop! She was so excited and Piper her little friend won for her class!

Here they are riding in the Cow Train. Really cute idea made out of plastic barrels.

They had a big watering trough filled with loose corn seeds.... The children all got in and played in it like a sandbox. Wendy right before getting out laid down and started making a "corn angel". Ha.. I kid you not, this child came up with this on her own. Very funny and creative. You are talking about someone that hasn't seen snow except for on TV, but now that we are moved out here we will get to make one.

Just look at all of those lovely pumpkins! They had all kinds.... Blue Cinderella, Orange Pumpkins large and small, Ghost Pumpkins(white), Gourds of all kinds....
Wendy selected a real cute one, and the parents and teachers were allowed one also. Mine was white with orange stripes....then I saw this lovely Blue Pumpkin and asked how much it was and they told me $6.00...probably high, but hey how often do you get to do this?
We had a blast, but it was so muddy and slippery hence the bags over everyone's shoes. Not to mention the Maze itself was basically closed due to all of the MUD!

Here is Wendy with her find.

Here are three little piggies at their petting area.

This is Piper with Wendy.... They are just too darn cute together!

Big Bed For the Little Lady!

Some before and after shots....

The first photo is of us un-crating the large boxes of furniture.
The second one is of Mike taking down Wendy's toddler bed. (sorta sad to see it go)
The third and fourth are of Miss Wendy so proud to be on her new bed.
The fifth is of her dresser and to it's left is her new book case...it didn't get in the picture to well.

We have saved up and have bought a little at a time now.... Her bedding was bought first off of E-bay for cheaper than what I could have gotten it through Pottery Barn, but the furniture was from the Pottery Barn site and was caught on sale! Wendy wanted something pink and we chose to get a day bed with a trundle so it wouldn't take up all of her floor space. We are still working on putting things into place so who knows if it will all remain in the same place...well, the bed will stay where it is for sure.

I'm just thrilled because she is wanting to finally sleep in her room. We'll see how this all plays out. At least there is enough space for me if needed. ha

A New Outfit for Wendy and a couple of other happenings...

Just a few ramblings.....

First of all I know it has been a while since I posted. I'm sorry for that, but not anything to really say I guess or maybe too much to say. ha

The first photo is of Wendy in her new outfit that her Ganny gave to her in a fun box that she sent for her. You can tell how much Ganny misses her! Wendy truly misses her as well as my parents and of course her big sister Lacy!
It is the little things that count to Wendy.....not whether or not it had expensive things inside, but lots of little things and the sweet thought of who sent it. Our mailman gets a kick out of seeing how excited Wendy gets when she sees a box coming to her.

This box had the cutest little outfit in it! She wore it to school the very next day. Thank you Ganny for all of the sweet surprises sent her way.

Second, Holly brought a new thing home for Ethel Mae our Black and Tan Dachshund. She found a costume for her, but it was just a touch too big; so Holly said it can be her new toy...funny Ethel thought that was what it was to begin with.ha
She was so funny with it we just had to take photos of her. I hope Lacy sees these.

Third, I couldn't leave out this adorable photo of Tallulah (black and white) and Luther (tan and white). It is just so hard to get a GREAT PHOTO, but this one was just that!

Lastly, This is Audrey Lacy's new baby, my new grandpuppy. She reminds us of Ethel Mae except for she is a little thicker in the chest and her muzzle is wider. I can't wait to meet her in person. I wonder what the other pups will think of Audrey?

That's about it for now....

Pumpkin Carving....

On Thursday Wendy went to school with her new shirt on and criss cross pig tails. These are the bottom photos. I love playing with her long hair.

Saturday we went to a pumpkin patch of sorts. We didn't buy one from them because the woman wasn't very nice. So, Holly and I went and picked one out at the Market. Later that evening Wendy and Holly chose a template and Holly carved it. Of course everyone knows that you have to take the pulp and seeds out before you can do this; so this was Wendy's job. She thought it was a gross feeling. We got tickled at her. Unfortunately I didn't get any photos of that process. ha
She has learned on PBS Sid the Science Kid" about pumpkins when they are fresh and pumpkins as they decompose. Mike didn't realize that she knew the word, but boy she does and she knows how to use it correctly too. She is a very smart girl!

Oh by the way, I didn't realize how tired Wendy was until I downloaded these photos. The one of her and Holly was taken pretty late and she has this look on her face like she is just barely hanging in there. I do remember it wasn't long after the clean up she fell asleep. ha

Enjoy the photos....

First Trip to the Tri-State Fair

Wendy in the center along with her classmates in front of the Bus.

Wendy got a great hug from the Llama.

This is Wendy with her close friend Piper. Aren't they CUTE!!

Wendy loved looking at all of the Pumpkins,Jellies, and other vegetables that were entered into the Fair competition.

Wendy loved this chicken a "Rhode Island Red". Just like Papaw has... Can you see the hen?

Wendy had her first Field Trip with a school ever and her first time to go to the Tri-State Fair in Amarillo.
We had a wonderful time at the fair, but most of all I had fun watching Wendy's reaction to her first school bus ride ever!
We were able to go to the petting zoo and to any exhibit that included animals. I do believe the Chickens were her favorite. She was able to pet a chicken like Papaw has at his place.

Enjoy the photos....
