We went to the GWCA Picnic Reunion. We had a wonderful time. We met up with a family we had traveled with back in 04', and had a terrific time. There were many families that attended including one of the families that was on the DVD China's Lost Daughters. I was so excited to see them and was able to talk with them. I also met some that were familiar to me from the GWCA online forum. Snow and I had a good conversation, and Wendy managed asking a very direct question "When am I going to get MY SISTER Mylie??". Snow told her " Believe me I want Mylie to come home too." That evening we went downtown Austin and went to the Capital. I have never been inside neither had anyone else. Funny how I've driven by lots of times, but never knew we could go in. Afterward we walked down to 6th street and ate at a Mexican Restaurant which was delicious. We took a carriage ride after dinner. This is something I've always wanted to do in downtown Ft.Worth. They only charged us $50.00 dollars and then we tipped her nicely. Our horses name was Dennis. On Sunday we drove to San Antonio to Sea World. We were there not long after they had opened. This was Wendy's first time there, and we hadn't been there since Holly was 3years old. Lacy didn't get to make the trip with us. She would have enjoyed watching the shows with us. It rained on us a couple of times. That evening we met with my new travel sisters for dinner. Wendy got to meet her Aunties, and a new friend, Paige. Mike and Holly hadn't met Lynn, Tom, Patti, or Paige before. We had a wonderful visit. The girls played on their playground, and afterward we went to Cold Stone Creamier. Wendy started showing her personality while we were there; or was it the sugar?? Hummmm.
Monday we were going to Fiesta Texas, but there was 80% rain in the forecast. We decided to say good-bye to our friends and head back home. We went to Natural Bridge Caverns, Johnson Ranch, and then to Fredericksburg for German food! YUM!!!! That evening we spent the night in Marble Falls. The next morning we came on home, and it was a good thing we did, because right afterward it flooded there. This has been a very wet Summer!!!
I have the best kids ever!!! Even though they aren't home, Lacy and Holly both thought of their mom a little early. Holly is in Honduras on a Mission Trip and I hope she is being safe! Lacy is in Las Vegas scoping out the sites, I hope she stays safe as well. Holly came home on Tuesday evening and was ready to unload her car, but instead came in with my mother's day present! Holly and some of her friends at TX TECH went and made some pottery items. Holly made me some of the coolest coasters I've ever seen!! Each one was different....the top one had MOM written on it,and when it is turned upside down it says WOW....so anyone can use it. The second one had neat dots on it with a creamsicle orange background, the third had a ladybug on it with a lime green background, and the fourth had burgundy diamonds on a lavender background. Lacy surprised me on Friday with my mother's day gift. She is working at LUSH; which sales all kinds of bath soaps, bubble bars, and lotions. She got me a box of different beauty items inside. She also got me a lovely sapphire bracelet! What a surprise that was..... I love both of my older daughters very much!!
Wendy and daddy are taking me to Six Flags this evening! We are going to have a blast. She didn't leave for the weekend like her older sisters did; so we will have fun riding rides at the theme park on Mother's Day! She and daddy haven't given me their gift yet, but will later today they said.
I'm a very lucky momma!!!! I have three wonderful daughters, and one on the way!!! We still have a while to wait for our Mylie Camille. Mylie, momma loves you where ever you are, and will be celebrating next year with you and your sisters. What a fun day that will be!!
I'll add photos of all my neat stuff later..... I'll even post some of our adventure at Six Flags.
Easter Sunday was cold this year. Saturday the 7th it snowed as shown on the first photo of this slide show. Ganny came and spent the night that Saturday night and my Mamaw and Papaw came on Sunday to watch me hunt eggs. Holly was in from school for a long weekend. Lacy was home, too. Uncle Lane and Aunt Alla came to see us, also. We had a huge weekend and I had so much fun!!
Mike is in his element on the lake. He absolutely loves to bass fish. Unfortunately he doesn't get enought time to go. Here are a few of his captives.....of course he releases them after he gets their photo.
My GWCA Pal sent us the sweetest things for March. My pal sent us PJ's for Wendy with a ladybug theme on them, Mylie a little outfit with ladybugs and a little stuffed pig. She sent me my favorite Hot Tamales(some of my favorite candy), and Celtic music; which is so soothing to listen to. Lesa
We went to Lubbock the weekend before Easter and visited Holly. We sure do like Lubbock! Holly took us to see the Ranch Heritage Museum and it reminded me of the one they have in Dallas. This one is much larger I think and less crowded. Wendy had a wonderful time picking up Pecans that were on the ground and Mike cracked them and she ate them. Wendy also enjoyed chasing the Jack Rabbits; boy were they ever the largest rabbits I've ever seen. Compared to the cotton tail we saw the next day at their children's park.....along side with Prairie Dogs at the children's park. We also went to the nicest Drive~In Movie Theater ever!! We went to see Meet the Robinson's. Enjoy the photos.
Wendy just loves to teeter totter! She isn't the only one. I totally believe this is the best brand for private home use ever!! After all, take a look at how many it can hold without falling apart. Mike and I often go outside to play with Wendy and we will teeter totter quite abit. Enjoy!
